Keep a text story readable
A text-message story already reveals new information at every cut. Start with plain cuts between chat cards, keep the phone frame steady, and leave enough time to read each new bubble. Preview a full conversation before adding motion.
Use transitions where the location or time changes, and compare the join with narration playing. If an effect hides a message or makes a caption harder to read, remove it or shorten it. The final export should make the conversation easier to follow.
