Text-message stories are one of the most reliable short-form formats: a dramatic conversation revealed bubble by bubble, narrated message by message. The tension lives in the reply rhythm - every new bubble is a mini cliffhanger.

Most creators storyboard these in screenshots or clunky editors. Here you just type the conversation as "Name: message" lines and the thread renders live, exactly as a viewer would see it: gray bubbles for the other person, blue for you, newest message highlighted.

The preview uses the same conversation rules as FrameCompose’s Text Message Story template: two speakers, the second voice becomes the "me" side, and short interjections fold into the next message so no bubble wastes a beat. What you see here is what the generated video renders, scene for scene.

That matters because the video version turns every message into its own scene - the thread drawn up to that bubble - so the preview doubles as your storyboard.

When the conversation reads right, click "Make this a narrated video". A new editor project opens with Video Studio, Text Message Story selected, and your conversation preserved. Generate the storyboard first, check each message, then use the scene-generation button to add chat cards and narration to the timeline.

Text-story scenes are composed without AI image generation, which makes this one of the cheapest formats to produce at volume - and every scene stays editable on a real timeline afterwards.

Writing, previewing, copying, and downloading the chat image are free without an account. The video uses composed chat cards rather than paid AI-generated images. Choose an included voice for narration, then edit captions and scene timing in the browser.

Paid options are useful when you want premium voices or generated image and video scenes alongside the conversation. Those are optional generation choices, with the credit estimate shown before you start. You do not need to replace readable chat bubbles with AI-generated text.

Wrong-number mysteries, workplace receipts, wedding reveals, friendship betrayals, and misunderstood deliveries all work because one new message can reverse what the viewer believes. Use the example buttons as structures, then replace every name, fact, and final reveal with your own fictional premise.

Keep messages short enough to read before the next bubble appears. The strongest chat stories move through a normal opening, one suspicious detail, a denial, evidence, and a final message that changes the meaning of the conversation.

An iMessage-style design is a storytelling format, not proof that a conversation happened. Do not use the tool to impersonate a real person, fabricate evidence, publish private messages without permission, or make identifiable allegations look authentic.

For public examples, use invented names and details and label fictional scenarios clearly. If a story is inspired by a real event, remove identifying information and make sure you have the right to publish the source material.
