This fictional wedding reveal uses the same message renderer and starting timings as the tool: six message clips and five typing pauses. No generated AI imagery or narration is needed for these chat images.

Read the exact fictional conversation
Maya: The venue just cancelled our booking
Me: That makes no sense - I paid yesterday
Maya: You paid the old account
Me: The account you sent me?
Maya: I never sent an account
Me: Then who has been replying from your number?

In a video project, each message and pause stays editable. Create a free account, choose “Make this a video”, then adjust the reading time before exporting. Optional voices, music or generated media have their own controls and costs.

How to make a fake Messenger chat

Name the two people, then add messages for each side with the plus buttons under the messages. Already wrote the story somewhere else? Open Paste a conversation, put each message on its own line like "Emma: Did you find it?" and press Use conversation. The tool sets up both people for you.

The preview redraws as you type, in a white Messenger-style layout with light grey bubbles for the other person and blue ones for you. The header is a circle with the contact’s first letter and their name, so you never need a profile photo.

Story ideas that sound like Messenger

Picture a Messenger inbox: family, old school friends and someone selling a sofa, all in one place, so the drama is already built in. A classmate finds you fifteen years later. A cousin sends the wrong person exactly what they think of the wedding. A buyer asks "Is this still available?" for the ninth time.

The tool draws one chat between two people, so tell a group story through the two at the heart of it: the cousin who spilled the secret and the one who found out. Keep messages short and save the twist for the last reply.

From Messenger chat to video

Press "Make this a video" and every message becomes its own clip, showing the thread up to that bubble. Between messages you get a typing bubble with three dots, so each reply lands after a beat, the way it does in a real chat.

Everything arrives in order on an editable timeline, set up as a vertical 9:16 video. Trim the pauses, add narration or music if you like, and keep the finished video with a free FrameCompose account. The chat images are drawn from your text, not requested from an AI image model, so preparing the clips uses no AI image credits.

Keep it a story, and say so

A Messenger-style image proves nothing about what anyone really said. Use invented names, do not copy a real person’s chat or pass a made-up one off as real, and say in your caption that the story is fiction.

FrameCompose is not affiliated with Meta or Messenger. The blue and grey are a look for fictional stories.

Frequently asked questions

A few quick answers before you jump in.

Is this fake Messenger chat generator free?

Yes. Writing, previewing and downloading the chat image are free with no account. Keeping it as a video uses a free FrameCompose account.

Can I make a fake Facebook Messenger chat?

Yes. This page opens in the Messenger style, so you only write the conversation between two people. You get blue and grey bubbles you can download as an image or turn into a video. It is made for fictional stories.

Can I write a family group chat story?

Yes, through the two people at the heart of it. Put an aunt on one side and her niece on the other and write the argument between them. The rest of the family can show up in what they say.

Can I paste a chat I already wrote?

Yes. Open Paste a conversation, put one message per line as Name: message and press Use conversation. The tool places the two people on the left and right for you.

Can I change the Messenger chat color?

Yes. Open the style menu above the chat, choose Custom colors and set the background, header and either bubble to any colors you like. The preview, the image and the video all follow them.

Can I edit a message after I make the video?

Yes. Open Edit conversation in the media bin, change the message and press Update images. The affected chat images redraw and your timing edits stay where you put them.

Put your conversation on the timeline

Open your conversation as image clips and typing pauses on an editable timeline. Narration and music are optional.
